A Good Time

Family shower was yesterday- and it was a blast! Getting to see aunts and cousins and just spending time with everyone reminds me how much family means. The cake was amazing- the same kind we had at our wedding, the food that everyone made was GREAT- cookies, pretzel salad, pasta salad, mocktails, fruit salad and chicken from Chick-Fil-A (even pregnant I am pretty easy to please food wise).





Afterwards daddy got to enjoy unpacking, unwrapping and washing. Having the "stuff" for our little man makes him even more real and even closer than before! Cousin K got us the baby necessities, aunts got us clothes, cradles and a stroller and grandma went overboard with everything under the sun (including a Mike Wazowski onesie!). We couldn't be happier or more thankful to have such a great family and that even with as large as our family is- we still are able to stay in touch and do things that people with small families have a difficult time doing.

Dr. K is of course to thank for the majority- she planned, threw and went beyond anything we expected. It was one of the best weekends we have had in quite a while- and have been napping all day to compensate for all the commotion! I've also been finishing up leftovers... you can' let cake go to waste you know!

" Today's the day! The sun is shining, the tank is clean, and we are getting out of here...THE TANK IS CLEAN?! Caden William

After a short two hours in the outside world, Caden, our perfect happy little boy was taken to the nursery to get checked out and cleaned up. A nurse came in shortly to let us know that regrettably, Caden was breathing a little faster than he should have been and that he would be moved to the special care nursery (NICU) to be evaluated. Usually babies are there about 24 hours and then are good to go back to mom and the regular nursery- and he just needed a little extra attention for a few good hours.  Dad had just left to go home and shower and gather himself. I called him, still calm and collected, and still surrounded by family. I was worried sick about my little boy and my dad took me in my wheelchair later to see him in his incubator. To sit and only make contact through a little hole with your baby is about the most helpless feeling ever. His little chest was going at what seemed like a million miles a minute. Intestinal-Abdominus Who- I. Hate. You

This is how I feel currently- insert various stomach/ abdominal organs where Who-names are located... I am on Day Two of an antibiotic for my Bladder, in addition to the "pre-diabetes" med- which my Chiropractor kindly commented, aren't we all "pre-diabetic?" Thank-you Dr. Bill!, the prenatal vitamins, thyroid meds, Align, the extra Fiber, the colace, and the spiked apple juice that are all trying to combat my overstressed and non-working intestines. It's really like a party in my stomach right now! I feel like my medications have enrolled in e-harmony and are looking for their perfect match and just keep getting more friend to visit! Someone really needs to cancel their 90 day free trial! Basically I am miserable, I am up constantly at night to pee, then I can't go back to sleep (even though I don't turn on any lights so as not to disrupt my body's internal clock).
